Windows 2000 saves me $350
Yesterday I was looking at upgrading my motherboard to one of the newer ECS boards and slapping an Athlon 2000 on it with 512 of the newer RAM. Why? The most important reason of all - computer games. I mean, get serious - is there any other reason anyone needs to upgrade these days (except maybe for DV editing)?
Well, anyway, I decided that I would see if upgrading to Windows 2000 (and hence, getting the benefit of my second CPU) would help. Sure enough, it was a substantial improvement in gameplay - enough to allow me to hold off on buying a new motherboard for another year at least.
Of course, some of my peripherals may not work now, but you gotta have priorities!
