Firefox cool feature o' the day

[ #21238 ]
I just installed Firefox 1.0PR1 recently. I just noticed that the "find" feature no longer creates a separate popup window. Instead, there's a little bar at the bottom you can use.

Brilliant! I don't know how many times I've "lost" the find window behind another window somewhere.

  • I've always disliked the find popup box resulting from pressing CTRL+F. That was until Mozilla/Firefox had added the feature where you can search just by typing a '/' followed by the text you want to search (just like in vi). To search for links you don't even have to type the '/' character. Just start typing the text.

I haven't had to use the find popup since several months.

  • I really like that feature. I also like the feature that colors the URL entry box yellow when on a secure page. Little stuff like that makes it a nice browser to use.
