Fire
I just rented an Indian movie called "Fire". The "banned in India" sticker made it compelling for me, since I figured I could then discuss it with some of my Indian co-workers. That, and the lesbians of course.
The movie is actually quite good. It echoes a lot of the opinions that I hear from the younger crowd at work as far as being tired of the old "traditions" in India, especially with regards to marriage and the role of women. This, and not the lesbianism (which is extremely tame by Western standards btw), is what truly caused the controversy in some people's opinions.
The DVD includes some extra stuff, including some of the violence that erupted when the movie released, and interviews with the director and the lead actresses.
