My political allegiance
Having read some of my journal entries you may have come to the conclusion that I'm a conservative, or even a Republican. I'm not. I'm an independent. I voted for Clinton in 1992 and for Bush in 2000.
It's just that when it comes to foreign policy I'm hawkish. However, when it comes to environmental policy, I'm as liberal as they get. It's stories like this that remind me precisely *why* I'm not a Republican. Disgusting.
In more general terms, I'm not a Republican or a Democrat because I don't believe in tying myself to a particular set of views. Actually, I believe that political parties hurt the political process in many ways, because of the enormous pressure to vote "along party lines", mainly through the threat of witholding campaign money.
Anyway, there you go.
