Well it would seem you live in an area that is less likely to be severely hit during your lifetime (by that I mean your comfort won't be too affected, though off course the rest will). I suggest you use this to your advantage and get into politics in a small and cold village -- it will be a popular crowded place soon ;)
Oh, and invest in aircon companies, they'll soon be selling lots around here.
