The organization for the 4th Italian Perl Workshop is underway. The workshop will be held in Pisa, on September 18 and 19. Entrance will be free of charge, and there might even be complimentary coffee breaks.

While we complete the "official web site" (based on Act, of course), you can read the CFP and start planning your trip (talks will be primarily in Italian, but this never stopped anyone)

IPW 2008 - Call for papers & questions

You can influence the topics that will be covered during the
workshop in two ways: you can propose your own talk, or you can
propose a topic for discussion.

To propose either, you can use the web interface (when we'll finish it). All proposals are to be
sent before June 30, 2008.

If you send a proposal, please fill in as much information as
possible about yourself in your profile, after having registered.

Some talk are already defined:

http://use.perl.org/~dakkar/journal/28806?from=rss

The Third IPW is confirmed and being worked on. You'll see updates in my journal, in newsgroups (at least it.comp.lang.perl), and on the #nordest.pm IRC channel on slashnet.

This workshop aims to be less "conference" and more "let's exchange ideas": in addition to the classic talks, we are asking participants to propose discussion themes: the organizers will select some and choose some experts on the topic; the participants will then be able to exchange experiences, points of view, and suggestions.

Another important point: participation is free of charge. You could just barge in at any time (you'd probably be asked to avoid interrupting talks or discussion, though); at any rate, we would much better like for any participant to register in advance, so as to have at least an idea of the numbers we'll be dealing with.

More details can be found at the web site, kindly hosted by the YAPC Europe Foundation. Registrations are already open!
dakkar2006-02-26T18:19:31+00:00events
