Star Wars Books

[ #24943 ]
I've heard that prior to the SW movies there were already some SW books.

Furthermore, there would be more than six books.

My question is: can anybody tell me who wrote them? If I were to read them, what should I search for?

  • ... it has very extensive information on all that stuff. A good start is Expanded Universe (Star Wars) [wikipedia.org]
  • Definitely get Timothy Zahn’s first trilogy, Heir to the Empire, it’s pure and unadulterated brilliance. The second one is just more of the same; just as well-written, but just a rehash. There are also heaps of other good books, but none of them are masterpieces quite like that first trilogy.

All of them are at least 10× better than the merchantable bile that is Lucas’s prequels.
