Everything in the article is about the behaviour of people when using a cellphones. The quote from the weblog is in that perspective.
So no, it was not a critique on weblogs in general, or even a critique of this particular weblog.

Er, yeah, I don't really believe she was talking about weblogs when she described the way some people need to discuss their mundanities in public. Perhaps I should be a little less vague:
I'm eating a yogurt called "Lemon Squeeze". It's not really lemony, but it's very creamy. It's amazing, what you get for $0.38 these days!
