JAPH. (That's right -- I'm not Really Inexperienced any more.)

I'm not just here, I'm here [perlmonks.org], and here [javajunkies.org] too, I ramble randomly in my philosophical blog [blogspot.com] and my other blog [blogspot.com]. Soon I'll come in a convenient six-pack.

Divisions

[ #5917 ]
Now that I have a basic understanding of each thing that's going into this wonderful concoction called (tentatively) HyperNews. (Mainly because it sounded snappy. I really don't have a good name for it, but I suspect I don't need one.)

I'm just glad that I figured out precisely where the divisions between content, layout, and algorithm exist. Before that I was floundering, unable to walk through the maze for lack of an arrow pointing at the "Start" entrance.

Finally getting used to MySQL. The interface (and I don't mean DBI, I mean the actual query engine) is so unfamiliar to me right now that I need a reference beside me for the simplest things. That'll pass, though.

  • That name is already in pretty heavy use for this software [hypernews.org].

Overloading is fine, of course, just make sure your parameters or return type are different...

    • Thank you for the info. :)

The name's pretty irrelevant; I just wanted something that sounded half decent. I'll pick something else, JIC I stick this thing somewhere that a search engine can get to it...
