JAPH. (That's right -- I'm not Really Inexperienced any more.)

I'm not just here, I'm here [perlmonks.org], and here [javajunkies.org] too, I ramble randomly in my philosophical blog [blogspot.com] and my other blog [blogspot.com]. Soon I'll come in a convenient six-pack.

Torn Between Two Ideals

[ #19441 ]

Tom Christansen (co-author of the perl cookbook) exists in a parallel internet to the rest of us - an internet that's text only , with multiple perl scripts delivering information to him in pure text only format.

I have to admit, there's a part of my brain that feels this concept oozes sexiness -- PURE TEXT, it screams at me.

Another part, though, keeps talking to me very calmly about graphic file formats, and slick CSS tricks. It has all the calm rationality of a well-dosed heroin addict explaining how to steal needles from a doctor's office.

Also, I believe it's 'Christiansen'.
