JAPH. (That's right -- I'm not Really Inexperienced any more.)

I'm not just here, I'm here [perlmonks.org], and here [javajunkies.org] too, I ramble randomly in my philosophical blog [blogspot.com] and my other blog [blogspot.com]. Soon I'll come in a convenient six-pack.

Watch Hope, Bot Ordeal

[ #17560 ]
After a great deal of trial and error, I've finally settled on Net::AIM. Net::ICQ doesn't work any more, Net::YMSG might not work either, Net::MSN is prohibitively complex (for my goal of getting this banged out ASAP, anyway...might add support for MSN later), and I want to avoid using IRC for the time being.

This leaves me pretty much with Jabber or AIM, and because I'm a little wary of installing programs willy-nilly at work, I'm hesitant to start f'ing around with Jabber from there. AIM it is, and that should be sufficient.

Once my tiny little mind patched together the fact that I'll be able to write apps for my watch with the notion that I could add a USB port to the guts of my intended wearable computer, I realized I might well be able to control simple functions of my wearable computer with the watch -- which would be so cool, especially considering that the stem control (I forgot that -- it has a stem knob, where you tug it out to set the time or an alarm or what-have-you and then twist it to set individual times/letters of things/etc.) With the stem control, I could have an analog-style control over things for which it would be vaguely appropriate, like volume, or something.
