Curiouser And Curiouser

I'm going to look over what I wrote yesterday with fresh eyes once I get home from work (with comments on the previous journal entry in mind.) However, I just had another notion, and I didn't want to lose track of it...

Could a useful programming language be created whose syntax is completely web-form-transmittable? Could that language be anything but a horror? If so, what would it look like?

I'm literally saying a syntax that doesn't include any characters that are going to cause problems -- slashes, etc. I don't even know all the characters that could cause problems off the top of my head, but I'm curious now.

This deserves a little further research, even if such a language would be horrific/useless/both -- just knowing why will let me sleep a little better at night.
