The NHL is back

[ #26779 ]
Many of you probably don't care, but I sure do. The NHL pre-season has started and I got my first taste of live action Saturday night as the Sabres beat the Caps.

Leading up to the game, the mood in HSBC Arena can be described in one word: giddy. Grown men were literally skipping down the halls before the initial puck dropped. The good vibe in the air was palpable. It was fantastic.

The game was a bit sloppy, but it was great to just be there again. Here's hoping they can avoid being so thickheaded in the future.

Go Sabres!

  • As I write this, the Sox lead the Devil Rays 3-2 in the third, and the Bruins lead the Penguins 3-2 in the second.
    • Ah yes, and the new schedule should heat up the inter-division rivalries, so Sabres vs. Bruins should be hot ticket again. 8 games this year for each inter-division team.
