Stonehenge and Google's Summer of Code

[ #24983 ]

Two months. $4,500. The start of a Perl career. What could be better?

As you can read in the use.perl news, Google is sponsoring the Sumemr of Code. Students complete projects under the guidance of a mentor. Although TPF is one of the mentoring organization, students can pick there own mentors.

As such, Stonehenge Consulting Services has volunteered to provide mentors (and TPF gets the $500). Students who are interested can talk to me directly (brian@stonehenge.com)about their projects, or if you don't have a project, I have a lot of ideas.

Besides that, Randal and I have been talking about a mentoring program for a while. Students will have a pretty difficult time catching up with Randal's travel, if you're in Chicago and would like to be a Perl intern for the summer (or during the academic year), we'll go through the hoops to get you the school credit and work out some sort of stipend. :)
