Was: Meetup, Now: Upcoming

[ #25724 ]
Due to the farce that has ended a lot of volunteer group advertisement on meetup.com, another venture has been spotted that kind of fills the gap. Not as much as meetup, but the essential advertisement part is there.

Upcoming.org

For the Birmingham and Wolverhampton area, there are a wealth of activities now listed. Admittedly most are gigs (which is more than fine by me), but the Wolves LUG and Birmingham.pm events all get a mention. Once this starts to get a bit more notice, I expect it will get a bigger variety of listings.

At the moment it's free, but the nature that the listing are in, could easily have a bit of advertising to keep them going. The searching could be improved, but overall it looks like a good alternative.

Update: Oops that's .org not .com. Thanks to rjbs for the patch ;)
