War is no laughing matter. Death is no laughing matter. The fact the leader of biggest country in the western world thinks it's funny, makes me wonder how long it will take the majority of people in the US to stand up and be counted, like those in Spain. I wonder if the families who've lost loved ones are laughing. I wonder if the men and women still there, facing daily horrors I cannot begin to imagine, find it funny. I think not.
I was nearly suspended (the teacher threatened expulsion) because I was the only one in my class who refused to see the funny side to the Falklands War (although it was The Falklands Conflict, or The Skirmism In The South Seas) 22 years ago.
I've turned comments off, as this is not a rant. Just disblief that someone can send people to war and then make light of the reasons why he sent them. It's exactly this sort of thing that incites hatred for westerners around the world.
