To my great surprise I spotted someone reading a copy of the "Llama" on the way into work today. That makes two Perl users in our village, not bad going for a tiny village in rural Hampshire.
Spoke to the Llama reading co-commuter today. Turns out he works for a large American mobile phone and micro-processor firm... They use Perl in their testing environment, and a colleague lent him the book.
Naturally I suggested he checked out the odd Perl site, such as use.perl [perl.org], perlmonks [perlmonks.org] and learn.perl [perl.org].
Tomorrow morning I shall see if he goes and hides at the other end of the platform....
