Stop genomic neo-colonialism!!!

[ #4047 ]
Here is a story about Jim Kent, bioinformaticst (sp?)/computer scientist/open data hero. He is giving a keynote address at Oreilly's OSCON. Now if I can just convince my boss to let me go. Jim and his group at UC Santa Cruz develop/enhance/maintain the UCSC Genome Browser. It's a great tool to visualize the human genome and all its attributes (genes, annotation information, etc). I use it almost everyday for my job.
