Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

Summer of Code projects: zfs!

The Google Summer of Code 2006 projects were announced a few days ago: Perl got a few projects funded. I went through all the proposals and it's scary how many are "Bittorrent integration with $project". The most interesting for me is the ZFS filesystem for FUSE/Linux proposal. We need a decent filesystem because disks fail all the time. Now please stop me writing a distributed file system a la GFS...
