Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

YAPC::Asia

[ #29143 ]

Right now I'm sitting in YAPC::Asia 2006 Tokyo. I flew directly from Heathrow->Narita with Virgin Atlantic which was nice and then we tried to exploit our jetlag by getting up early and visiting Tsukiji fish market, which almost worked. At least we had excellent fresh fish!

It's been slightly Lost In Translation until now, but it's fun to meet up with the organisers and other speakers for the conference itself. There have been excellent talks so far on Pugs and Module::Compile and I've given my talk on mighTyV (PDF, with Japanese subtitles!). Miyagawa is currently talking about the plugin-full plagger (my favourite plugin is the Plagger::Plugin::Notify::Eject ;-). So far an excellent conference. Many thanks to the organisers! Now if only I can find some katsu curry...
