Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

In a few hours I'm off to Montréal to YAPC::NorthAmerica and I'm really looking forward to it.

I've been spending the past couple of days updating (and writing) my slides - I'm going to be giving three 20-minute talks: "Graphing Perl" (which is now traditional at a Perl conference and full of pretty pictures), "The Perl Monger World Map" (more pretty pictures, see the map yourself), and "Instant Compilers" (a cut down version of the talk I'll be doing with Damian at TPC).

unimatrix is already there, and says it's shorts and tshirt weather, yay.

I'm going to try and write up the conference on a daily basis, much as I plan to do for YAPC::Europe, registration for which will be opening within the next few days, honest...

See you there!
