Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

YAPC::Europe Day 1: Perl at The Register

[ #26538 ]
Aaron Crane talked about Perl at The Register, which isn't about Perl for Profit but rather about how Perl is used at The Register: from the content management system to the page generator. They use libxml for XSLT (and have considered TT) for the generation. On the CMS front, they considered Bricolage immediately but disliked various things about it - looks like they wanted more hooks everywhere. Now that they knew what they wanted, they rewrote their own internal CMS. He showed a quick little demo, which wasn't terribly pretty but seemed functional.
