Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

OSCON Day 5: 45 Things to Do with RSS and Atom

[ #26124 ]
Last night was a little tiring, so I didn't really catch all the keynotes today. However, On Evil by Danny O'Brien was excellent: let's all be evil. Right now I'm in 45 Things to Do with RSS and Atom by Ben Hammersley and Timothy Appnel. This is a good double act with lots of little tips on syndication from reading RSS in Excel through personalised feeds for customer services to mixing iTunes and del.icio.us feeds. It's neat, lots of little hacks, client side things, server side things, mixing and matching services and lots of little jokes. And of course, everyone is using their feed readers during the talk ;-) Best quote: "Working with OPML is like driving nails into the floor with your forehead"
