Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

Google Maps center

[ #23089 ]
According to Google Maps, the centre of the known world is somewhere near Wichita (notice x=0&y=0). OK, so it is quite neat. Shame the rest of the world doesn't exist, though.

  • Wichita, KS is the center of this alternate Earth. You can tell that it's not actually this planet because there's way too much ocean around North America (and no other continents, either).
    • Try panning in any direction - you will disappear into an unending ocean.

/me wonders if this is a variant of DiscWorld, but can't find Ank MorPork

  • Nice modern basemaps, it shows fairly recent state of teh Boston Big Dig. The keyboard pan is cute (but probably won't work with my paranoid browser at home!)
