Leon Brocard (aka acme) is an orange-loving Perl eurohacker with many varied contributions to the Perl community, including the GraphViz module on the CPAN. YAPC::Europe was all his fault. He is still looking for a Perl Monger group he can start which begins with the letter 'D'.

The naming of things & games

[ #21559 ]
Wow, I must have got off the wrong side of bed this morning. The first thing I see on #perl this morning is some talk about dh-make-perl, a Debian tool which helps bundle CPAN packages into .debs. And my first two questions I type into IRC are:

08:48 what does dh stand for, anyway?
[... waffle which means it is debhelper or something like that ...]
08:51 also, it doesn't make perl

Just to reinforce that naming is very important. And UNIX people often get it wrong^Wconfusing.

I'd just like to point out it is a total coincidence that I happen to have copious spare time just at the same time that GTA: San Andreas and Halo 2 are released...
