"Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane
Ain't got time to take a fast train
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home
'Cause my baby just a-wrote me a letter"
-- The Boxtops

Slashdot is running a story on a Microsoft project in which the sender may have to pay to send email.

Food for thought: until 1855, it was the recipients of letters sent through the USPS that paid the postage, much like the recipients of spam complain of having to do today with email.

The real question, of course, is who will be paid?
