I haven't really taken the time to set this up, but you can look at my home node [perlmonks.org] on Perl Monks.

Peace reigns again

[ #2591 ]

The monastery is back and healthy. Yay! I have my favorite time sink again.

I'd been playing with a 1.0 release of Everything, intending to bring up a site for discussions about a particular healthcare topic. I've gotten some pretty good understanding of E2, thanks to chromatic's excellent documentation. But all throughout I'd wondered if I'd be able to re-produce my hacks if/when I bring up the site on an outside host, so this really worried me. It'd be great if Nate and/or Tim wrote a "Lessons Learned" document. I remember Robin Miller did that once when Slashdot dropped off the air for a while.

Am I ever going to lose the habit of using square brackets for links??

  • I've often thought (though never in the middle of things) to keep copious notes of everything I do to get a new piece of software up and running. The Everything documentation sort of grew out of that. (I was so much younger then...)
