I have a USB drive that I carry around. It has stuff I need at home, at work, remote offices, etc. At my client, all the machines are fairly new, and have a couple of USB ports on the front.
My home machine, which I built about five years ago, has one USB port in the back. It's a hassle to plug the drive in and out because I keep the machine under my desk.
Tonight I discovered a more important reason why the ports should be in the front: so when you go to unplug the thumb drive, you don't accidentally pull the power cord out too....
