Split la différence!

[ #6256 ]
Dear Log,

So the the Anglican and Methodist churches can't agree on the acceptability of women priests.

I propose to split the difference by simply banning male clergy in both churches -- and maybe we can spread it to all churches. Under penalty of taxation! I predict sudden outbreaks of well-adjusted attitudes toward women.

  • How absurd. "We" can no more ban male clergy than we can un-ban female clergy.

  • Ironically, the church as described in the Bible has nothing like the concept of "clergy." You have elders/pastors [goreadthebible.com]to guide and lead the church, a role traditionally (and unbiblically) relegated to preachers in the Protestant church.

It would have been fine if they'd left it alone.

So, I guess you could say I'm with you on banning male clergy.  :)
