DAE-WOOOOOOO

[ #4781 ]
Dear Log,

Money can be exchanged for goods and services!

And based on that premise, I just went and bought one of those tele-vision devices that the kids are always talking about. It's a DAEWOO, and it's cheap. I now like to yodel "DAE-WOOOOOOO!" (with the same vowels as in "bag goo").

And when I turned off the TV for the first time, I noticed a little red light on the front panel light up. I got up close to see what it said. There was a caption over the little red light saying "STAND BY".

I was very puzzled by this.

I looked in the manual, and it said simply: "This indicator lights up when the power is off".

A light whose being on means that the television is not on. Very existential.
