Dear Log,

I see that The Naked Civil Servant is out on DVD. That film is on my short list of films so odd and/or well done (along with Clockwatchers and From Beyond) that I often have to remind myself that I really did see it, and it wasn't just some jumbled fever dream.

  • I adore Lovecraft and found _From Beyond_ beyond the pale. Too cheesy. Too gross. Not enough gothic horror for me and, of course, it's quite different from the short story. Why didn't the producers of that film tackle _The Dunwich Horror_? There are lots of opportunities for gore in that little ditty. So BOO, I say! Boo!
