Adulthood

[ #2996 ]
Dear Log,

On the jukebox: John Cage, 4'33"

It has been widely noted that modern cultures lack rites of passage into adulthood. This leaves people thinking "So... when am I supposed to feel like an adult?"

I have found the answer: You are an adult when you buy a butter dish. At least, you have the feeling of being an adult.

Because it's very hard to feel reckless when you daintily put the cover back on your butter dish after spreading a bit of butter on your toast.
