"Il est beau comme la retractilité des serres des oiseaux rapaces [...] et surtout, comme la rencontre fortuite sur une table de dissection d'une machine à coudre et d'un parapluie !" -- Lautréamont

Chirality

[ #2607 ]

On the jukebox: BT, "Fibonacci Sequence", off of Rare & Remixed

Debates over the canonical chirality of the toilet paper roll continue:

"Oh, and I suppose you'd PREFER that we live in a universe with only two spatial dimensions, so that we couldn't just flip the roll one way or another? And that way, we'd have to get just one kind of tube/roll or another at the store! That'd solve everything, wouldn't it?"
"I didn't say that!"
"But you thought it!"
"Yes, but don't tell me what I did or didn't think! And besides, what's the point of a roll of toilet paper or paper towels in a universe with only two spatial dimensions?"
"Well, it'd be a disc obviously. L-discs and R-discs."
"Don't mess with my head!"

Meanwhile, the noises from the dishwasher are reverberating really strangely in the hall, making the cat think there's things in the wall, which he is dutifully attacking.
