The archetype of delusional old coot as culture-hero

[ #22271 ]
Dear Log,

Maybe Michael Crichton's current book is the start of a trilogy, with the subsequent volumes to be called You Kids Get Offa My Lawn! and Look Out For Those Mexicans. I call it the Egomania-and-Prostatitis Trilogy. I will shelve it (in its box-set slipcase) next to a few Christ-centered volumes about how slavery wasn't so bad, and my Laserdisc of Falling Down , and my Orson Scott Card folios.
