Nemesis

[ #11768 ]
Dear Log,

My nemesis is Thomas Friedman, the Zap Brannigan of journalism. He was on PBS News today -- they like to have him on since, as he's a paunchy middle-aged man who knows all the new catchphrases like "Excuuuuuuuuuse ME!", he gives the show a youthful feel.

And as he was on today, he said that Bush-2 should "focus with blinders and a laser beam" on Iraqi reconstruction. This mixed melage of muddled metaphors bothers me.

Compare: "If we can hit that bull's-eye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate!" -- Zap Brannigan
