Dear Log,

Me and my grandfather, when I was about 8, on a typical L.A. summer day:

Grandfather: Your grandmother just got a new vacuum cleaner.
Me: Hm.
G: Hm.
Me: There's the old one around still.
G: Yeah. It still kinda works. But not really well.
Me: Does she still want it?
G: Nope. She's just going to throw it away.
Me: Let's take it.
G: I wonder how hard it'd be to take apart the motor and mess with it to get it to go backwards once we put it all back together.
Me: We should try that.
G: We should.
Me: I'll get the screwdrivers.
