Fotango - an enemy of perl development and developers?

While Fotango is supporting perl development with one hand it continues to secretly patent trivial and obvious software ideas with the other.

While fotango is able to contribute to perl development it is at the same time building a portfolio, together with Cannon, it's parent company, to ensure that they can sue you for any of a number web development techniques.

Of course in their nice open source warm fuzzy statements they don't mention they've got a wad of software patents ready to kill any business and stiffle any development that might affect their profits or their parent companies, or that they could use to suck undeserved licensing from hard working developers and businesses.
