continental europe the most involved in OSS?

[ #10968 ]
Looking at the emails I get about my open source project, it looks like 70% of my mail comes from continental europe.

I've had about 3 people from the UK email me, 2 of whom I know IRL.

I've had about a dozen emails from french user, a dozen more from germany, several scandinavian users, and only 1 merkan.

Of course this isn't an accurate picture, but even on many of the mailing lists I subscribe to that are less mainstream like dia, argouml, etc most of the posters seem to be european rather than american.

Has anybody else noticed anything similar - do you get many more north american posters on different lists or around different technology (say wireless, etc) ?
