Color Kinetics

A few years ago I learned of Color Kinetics which made LED based lighting instruments with a 24 bit color range. One of the examples they liked to use was being able to change white roses at a party to any color. They were always too pricey for me to use in theatrical lighting.

They've gone consumer with CKSauce, where you can buy cool color changing lights. I think one of these might be a holiday gift for myself.

  • I am acquaintances with the owner and his mother (who lives a few blocks from me). Their offices are pretty cool, with tons of their lights everywhere. For a time (don't know if it's still there) they had an installation in Boston at city hall that was pretty cool at night.
