Casey's birthday went ok - we had a great meal at Outback Steakhouse (which in my opinion, going out doesn't need to get any fancier than that ;)). Then I gave her present, which was an artful terra cotta plate I saw in an art gallery and I saw that look of disappointment. That sucked!

So I'm feeling off about that and figuring out some next steps. It's a dent in the set of special days ... next one coming up is March 20th, our anniversary. Wish me luck!

In good news, we have a closing date for our new home - March 28th. Got the obligatory countdown on our home page. So we're getting ready for that and in doing so, I locked in our mortgage rate (on a 30-yr fixed) at 6.5% - not too shabby. :) We will end up paying less for mortgage payments than we pay in monthly rent right now!

As previously posted, my sister's getting married, and the wedding is March 23, so we're gonna have a slam-packed tailend to March. Thankfully, Easter vacation days and Casey's Spring Break are around those days, so it's not that inconvenient.
