JavaScripting

[ #22357 ]

I know some people just don't like JavaScript, but have you seen Chris Justus' recent dissection (also /.'d)of Google's Suggest application?

Even cooler, someone built one around CPAN!

Peace,

Jason

  • That's phenomenal. I wondered how Google pulled that off. Very, very impressive. You should post this to Perlmonks news if it hasn't bee already (or I will if you won't :)

    • The technique has been around for ages. I only found out about it a few months ago. I've been writing a chatterbox client for PM using XMLHttpRequest in the last day or so — surprised myself by how phenomenally easy it was to pull off. It turns out to be so little work that what started as my “prototype” is most of the finished product right there. The plumbing is all in place and works, I just need to put the pretty bits in place now.
    • Posted [perlmonks.org] -- I never checked out that section before... pretty neat.
