Stuff with the Perl Foundation. A couple of patches in the Perl core. A few CPAN modules. That about sums it up.

Grant applications

[ #29165 ]

I'm astonished at the dearth of grant applications this time around. Grant votes are coming soon and I checked the queue and we need more proposals in. See How to write a proposal for more info. That not only includes the information we are looking for in a grant application but also sample ideas of things the Perl Foundation would be interested in paying money for.

For more "behind the scenes" info which will give you an idea of what we'd vote for, see this blog entry about it.

  • Hi Ovid,

Perl 5 internals documentation is outdated and incomplete, and most of the perl code lacks any comments explaining what it does or why, so it is difficult for new people to get involved in perl5 development (I know because I have been doing it lately ;-).

In my opinion, this could be a good idea for a grant, improving perlapi, perlhack, perlguts and perlintern.
