Stuff with the Perl Foundation. A couple of patches in the Perl core. A few CPAN modules. That about sums it up.

Hello, Vanna? I'd like to buy a clue.

[ #24692 ]

This is astonishing.

I just stumbled on that rant. Like many rants, it's a mixture of truths, half-truths, and idiocies. Mostly it's the latter. The author picks a confusing code example and generalizes the example to somehow include all of Perl. And he takes swipes at just about everyone in the Perl community (since when was I a fan of obfuscated code?)

The sheer level of vitriol is amazing. Something else happened here. I wonder what it was.

  • This is astonishing

Most of what [perl.org] you say is [perl.org] :-)

  • Nowadays I just smile and nod at numbnuts like that one. Who in their right mind is going to argue with him?

And he complains that he was downvoted at PerlMonks. All I have to say is duh.

  • Does anyone know who this idiot is? Given the displayed attitude, if he complains about being downvoted by me then he probably was. But I'm kind of curious about the context.

Incidental irony. The FogBugz database is down or could not be found. I had to go to the Google cache to retrieve this page...

    Cheers,
    Ben
