Simple Halloween Costume Ideas

[ #15490 ]

Here are a few simple, Halloween costume ideas that you can do without spending much money. The first three are meant for a guy, the fourth can go either way and the fifth is meant for a girl but I'll leave the final decision up to you. After all, it's your costume...

  1. Nerd - Wear a white button up shirt, "high-water" pants, white socks, dress shoes, a bow tie, black glasses with tape on the bridge and slick down your hair (parted in the middle perhaps?). A pocket protector stuffed with pens and pencils is a plus.
  2. A man on a very windy day - Put some wire (a coat hanger?) inside a tie and bend the wire so the tie goes to the right, left or over the shoulder. Make you hair go the same way.
  3. Very popular guy - Dress nice but ruffle your clothes and pull part of your shirt tail out. Have a woman kiss your face several times with many colors of lipstick. Lipstick on the colar is a plus.
  4. Scarecrow - Wear blue denim overalls, an old button up shirt, an old pair of boots, a pair of cloth gloves and a straw hat. Stuff hay wherever you feel comfortable having hay. Optionally paint your face like a scarecrow.
  5. Pippy Longstockings - Wear a dress, red and white striped socks (the longer, the better), buckle shoes. Dye your hair bright red. Put two braids on either side of your head. Take a coat hanger (and cut it in two) or two pieces of thick wire and run one through each braid. Bend the wire until the two braids curve upward.

I'm dressing as a nerd and my oldest daughter is dressing as Pippy Longstockings this year.
