Matts (email not shown publicly) I work for MessageLabs [messagelabs.com] in Toronto, ON, Canada. I write spam filters, MTA software, high performance network software, string matching algorithms, and other cool stuff mostly in Perl and C.
Don't tell my wife it'll be snowy. As a Canadian dragged kicking and screaming to England (where it's wet and cold and rainy, but never snowy) she will be most upset she missed snow;-)
Should be an interesting conference though. I look forward to it.
Can you tell me something about what's going to happen there? I am thinking about going to possibly write something up about it for Slashdot, since I am in the neighborhood...
The idea is to get together people who hack on spam filters so that we can discuss the state of the art. It's a rush of short (45 mins) talks, followed by a get together over Chinese food to discuss things in further detail (and I imagine some might gather in a hotel bar afterwards).
It seems a bit of a short conference (considering how long I'm sure some of us could talk for), but I expect to get some pretty excellent stuff out of it.
Good luck with the conference (Score:2)
Spam ... BAD! Spam Assassin ... GOOD!
Don't mind the weather in Boston, as it's likely to be colder than a spammer's heart. And snowy.
