The real story behind the Osbourne Effect

[ #32588 ]

Sometimes reading camera forums throws up some real gems of information. One of the Pros who regularly posts on the Nikon forums is Thom Hogan, who's had a pretty interesting career by the looks of things.

He recently posted about the real story behind Osbourne computers, in relation to the situation behind Nikon releasing an updated D40 just weeks after releasing the original.

It's also interesting to note that Tom Christiansen is a now a big photogeek too, and regularly posts quite interesting things on dpreview.

  • Thanks for the link. Interesting to get an insider's viewpoint. I think one moral to the story is if you are considering getting involved with any kind of startup, you need to take a very close look at the owners as far as their personalities and backgrounds.
  • Your link goes just to the main forums page.

What exactly am I looking at here?
    • Darn. That means the thread got deleted by the moderators. One of the things I really dislike about dpreview.
