Goodbye Shelby

[ #32315 ]

Image

Taken this morning on her last day.

Shelby had gone downhill so fast we really didn't know how much longer
she had left in her. The crippling arthritis in her back legs and spine
almost prevented her from walking. And finally today she couldn't get
up from outside in the snow, so it was time.

We'd had her 11 years, and she will be missed more than she could know.

Goodbye Shelby - no more pain now. Run in your sleep forever.

  • Terribly sorry for your loss. Losing a pet you've had for so long is incredibly difficult, especially when you have to make the decision in her best interest.
  • I'm sorry to hear this. It's always a sad thing to lose a pet, particularly one which has been part of your life for so long.

  • Shelby's picture is as beautiful as your sentiment. I hope your heart heals soon.

Like yourself I had my Shelby for 11yrs. In my sorrow tonight, since I could not sleep, I came to the computer and did a search for the heck of it for "goodbye Shelby" and to my amazement your submission ca
