Laptop breakage

[ #2929 ]

My Linux laptop now has three quite severe cracks in it - two at the lid hinges (the obvious places you would expect), and one on the bottom right of the keyboard, where I guess a lot of stress is applied when I carry it around with the lid open.

I'm considering a repair job involving superglue and metal plates, but was wondering if anyone else had gone about something like this? (and no, I can't afford to just get a new one ;-)
