A Poem

[ #20476 ]

Inside of me
I am
Outside of me
And beside myself

Like tables turned
In a familiar room
I bash myself
And bruised
Search for something I know

I hope I recognise it.

  • I like it. How old is Heather?

"A Poem" is a crummy title, though; in most good poetry, the title sets the mood for what is to follow. Now, of course, I can't pretend to know what was in her mind, but some ideas come to mind:

    The Quest
    Inside a Klein bottle
    Familiarity
    Return of the labyrinth

Encourage her to come up with a good title. It's harder than it first appears. ;-)

  • It has a certain koan-ishness to it, as good poetry should.
