Dumb bug

Lets say you configure to send mail pretending to be from your hotmail account. When connects to your SMTP server it takes your From address, strips off everything before and including the '@' sign, and declares itself:


Dumb dumb dumb.

      One useful thing is to reject mail if the connection was introduced with (EHLO|HELO) or (Because those services never introduce themselves that way).

  • I use an external SMTP server, and sometimes it refuses to send my mail, so the mail gets stuck in the outbox.

    It then tries repeatedly to send the mail without luck.

    I have found out if I then open the mail and click 'Save as draft' it apparently resets something and the mail is delivered?

    I would very much like to find out what goes wrong
